Mark Alexander was the featured Fine Art Appraiser at the Annual Antiques on the Avenue event in Holly Hill, Florida

Mark Alexander was feautured in Gulfshore Life magazine as an expert art appraiser in "Stop, Thief", an article about collecting and protecting fine art and keeping it safe from thieves. Interviewed by Lenny Savino, Alexander offers some guidance regarding the different types of appraisals, proper documentation and guarantees of authenticity.

The "John James Audubon, American Artist and Naturalist" traveling exhibition opened at The Roberson Museum and Science Center in Binghamton , New York and run through the end of June.

The Audubon exhibition will travel to The Mississippi Museum of Art's new facility in Jackson, Mississippi in the Fall of 2008.

November 26th, 2007

Sheila Farr, art critic for The Seattle Times newspaper, visited the Auduboon exhibition at the Museum of History and Industry and wrote an illustrated review of the show in her article titled "Audubon: artist, ornithologist,odd duck".

Ms. Farr writes, "An intriguing historical exhibition "John James Audubon, American Artist and Naturalst" brings us 60 of the luscious hand-colored Double Elephant engravings from "Birds of Anerica" that cemented Audubon's reputation.

Even better, the show rounds out the picture of Audubon's life with a small selection of original paintings, letters, works by his contemporaries and personal posessions that indicate the character and passions of the man---and the mood of his times".

November 15th, 2007

Mark Alexander, Director of Art Services 2000 was the invited guest lecturer at Atlantic Center for the Arts ( ACA ) an internatinally recognized artist's residency complex in New Smyrna Beach.

His Powerpoint presentation titled: "A Spy in the House of Art: Confessions of a Fine Art Appraiser" chronicled a number of his current and past research projects including the appraisal of a very rare Audubon engraver's plate and his recent invitation to present research to the experts at Amsterdam's Vincent van Gogh Museum.

October 12th, 2007

The Seattle Museum of History and Industry, MOHAI,sponsored a special lecture program featuring nationally acclaimed author and Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes presented a lecture: "John James Audubon, The Making of an American" at 7 PM based on his recent biograhy of the famous artist and naturalist.

Mr. Rhodes is one af a number of John James Audubon experts and scholars who have made presentations in conjunction with the current traveling exhibition. Past lecturers include Mr. Joel Oppenheimer amd Mr.Don Boarman who both made presentations at the exhibition's Tulsa, Oklahoma venue, The Gilcrease Museum of Art, earlier this year.

Art Services 2000 Ltd.'s nationally traveling exhibiton, "John James Audubon , American Artist and Naturalist",opens at Seattle Washington's Museum of History and Industry this September. The exhibtion will run at the MOHAI through January 6th of 2008.

Florentine Films / Hott Production's new documentary film, "John James Audubon, Drawn from Nature" was broadcast on public television stations at 9 PM as part of the critically acclaimed PBS series American Masters. Art Services 2000 Director Mark Alexander acted as one of the consultants for the documentary, the first new biographical film of Audubon's life and works in many years.

Art Services 2000 Ltd.'s traveling exhibition, "John James Audubon, American Artist and Naturalist" opened with a private preview reception at it most recent venue, Okaloosa Walton College's Mattie Kelly Art Center Galleries in Niceville, Florida. The exhibition will run through early August of 2007.

The John James Audubon, American Artist and Naturalist traveling exhibition opens at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. This exhibition will also feature the CMNH's copy of Audubon's four volume Double Elephant Folio and a rare original Audubon oil painting of Peregrine Falcons on special loan from the Cleveland Museum of Art.

Mark Alexander delivers the John James Audubon traveling exhibition to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and meets with Dr. Mark Cole, Associate Curator of American Art at the Cleveland Museum of Art to conduct primary research on the works of Thomas Wilmer Dewing. Dr. Cole arranges a visit to Cleveland's William Gwinn Mather estate to view their collection of the artist's works.

"John James Audubon, American Artist and Naturalist" a nationally traveling exhibition organized by Art Services 2000 was delivered to its first venue at The Mennello Museum of American Art in Orlando, Florida. The exhibition cointinues through January 1st 2006.

Mark Alexander traveled to Leiden in the Netherlands on a fine art research assignment and while there he toured the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and viewed the permanent collection and a current exhibition "Vincent van Gogh Masterworks: The Drawings".

June 7th - 8th, 2005

On Tuesday June 7th Art Services 2000 delivered a work of art to the offices of International Fine Art Research,(IFAR) in New York for review and possible authentication. On Wednesday Mark Alexander met with Ms. Denise Bethel, Senior Vice President and Director of the Photography Department at Sotheby's.

Art Services 2000 Director Mark Alexander traveled to Lafayette, Louisiana to attend a lecture by Dr. Donald B. Kuspit and the Gala opening and reception for an exhibition of new works by Robert Rauschenberg, Darryl Pottorf and Christopher Rauschenberg at the University of Louisiana Art Museum.

Mark Alexander visited McCrone Associates laboratories in Westmont, Illinois and was given a personal tour of their facilities by Joseph Barabe, Director of Scientific Imaging. McCrone is one of the world's foremost forensic labortories specializing in the state of the art microscopy and material analysis. It is widely recognized as one of the outstanding testing facilities for the material analysis of works of fine art.

July 2004

Director of Art Services 2000, Mark Alexander was invited to work with Florentine Films and Hott Productions, Inc. of Haydenville, Massachusetts, on their current production of a new biographical film on the life of the American artist and naturalist John James Audubon.

The film "John James Audubon: Drawn From Nature" will be aired in early 2007 on PBS as a part of their award winning "American Masters" Series.
